Koch Associate Program: 2020-2021  The Koch Associate Program (KAP) is a year-long program that blends educational opportunities with real work experience. KAP equips associates with the principles, network, and resources to succeed as social entrepreneurs: leaders who come from all walks of life and use their unique gifts to advance positive changes in society and help people improve their lives. You will spend time working at a non-profit organization building the skills needed to contribute effectively in the workplace and engaging in classroom learning. Our curriculum is designed to make you more effective in your role with a non-profit and to equip you for long-term success in whatever ways you contribute to society.    What You’ll Experience  KAP will accelerate your career through a demanding curriculum and full-time employment at a dynamic non-profit. Here’s a snapshot of what you will experience:  - Professional development at the Charles Koch Institute is radically different from other programs. The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid semester long internship program offered in the Washington, DC area only.  It blends educational opportunities with real work experience. While participating in KIP, interns are placed at non-profit organizations and spend their week working on important issues that affect our world. Every other week, interns attend professional development sessions that build the skills needed to contribute effectively in the workplace.     What You’ll Experience  - Professional development at the Charles Koch Institute is radically different from other programs. We utilize experiential learning to flip the classroom, so you direct your learning, developing the skills you need to succeed, with the support of experienced mentors.   - Gain paid work experience at a participating organization doing meaningful work.  - Identify your aptitudes, develop general professional skills, and explore various career paths.  - We’ll introduce you to Market-Based Management ®, our management philosophy that helps individuals and organizations solve problems, capture opportunities, and transform society.  - You will grow your professional network, meeting peers and mentors that can support you throughout your career and join our expansive alumni network.     About You  You’re a developing and aspiring leader but you know there is more to learn and experience.
